What steps are involved in IVF treatment?
IVF treatment involves several steps. At the beginning, you will discuss the fertility treatment procedure with your doctor. The patient must also undergo a gynecological examination, while the male partner will undergo a spermiogram. If necessary, further tests and examinations will be ordered. If there are no obstacles to IVF, the patient’s follicles will be hormonally stimulated in the first half of the month. In this way, several eggs will mature, which will be removed later in the treatment. Ultrasound images and blood tests are used to determine the optimal time for ovulation. A dose of the HCG hormone triggers this. Your gynecologist can carry out ovarian stimulation. Around 36 hours after the hCG injection, shortly before ovulation, the eggs will then be removed in the IVI clinic of your choice. After the vaginal egg retrieval, the eggs are deposited on previously prepared semen drops and then cultured.
