Solar Panel in Australia

Install the substructure for solar system on tiled roof

Slide the roof hooks from below between two roof tiles and screw them onto the counter battens. You may need to remove some of the roofing and cut out recesses using an angle grinder. This will prevent the system from resting on the roof tiles, which could break under the weight. Be especially careful when doing this: Even the smallest hairline cracks in the roof covering can lead to water damage. Some systems replace the affected tiles with metal roof tiles or metal roof panels.

Next, you mount the rails that will later support the modules onto the hooks. You can attach them either parallel to each other or in a cross pattern. Cross rails offer the advantage of bridging uneven distances between the rafters and compensating for uneven surfaces. The greater distance from the roof also allows for better ventilation of the Solar energy in Australia. Align the rails so that the module surface is smooth and the modules do not shade each other.

Attach DC wiring

Place the solar cables in the correct location. They run from the modules to the inverter. Always choose the shortest route when wiring to avoid any power losses later. Depending on how many modules you connect in series in a so-called string, you will need one or more tindo solar cables

It may be necessary to break through the roof membrane for installation. Then reseal the area properly.

Attach and wire solar modules

now you can move the solar modules onto the roof. It’s best to use an inclined hoist or a roofer’s lift for this. Avoid passing the modules through the skylight – you could damage them or even injure yourself. Attach the modules to the substructure with special module clamps and connect the cables.

Depending on the system Solar Panel Sydney, the modules are connected in parallel or in series. Secure the cables to the substructure using cable ties and/or fastening clips. They must not rest directly on the roof to avoid contact with sunlight and water. Some mounting rails are already equipped with guides in which the cables can be safely stored. Also, make sure that the cables are neither under tension nor sagging.

Install the inverter

If you use module inverters, they are attached directly to the Solar Panel in Australia. (Multi-)string inverters are most commonly used in PV systems on private homes and are mounted in the house’s wiring compartment. Then install surge protection in the immediate vicinity. This could be a small, fireproof distribution board, for example. Then connect the solar cables to the inverter.
